Wickes head office 4/5/23 *** complements to Wickes head office 'Carlin Chetty' who sorted this out in about 72 hours. I heard from g24 at 3am on the 16th May*
Dear sir madam,
I take great offence at receiving copy below now taking up my time to
put right your error!
I take further offence that I was unable to deal with this via a
meeting today with the store manager (Fay Wilton) at Wickes. Like I'm
going to keep all my receipts just to prove when I went to Wickes say 2
or 3 time a day. I practically live in that store in 15 minute or 30
minute incruments per day. More of my precious time you want to waste
just to prove you have made a mistake.
If your product does not work, ie is not fit for purpose you have no
place using it to send out random fines to regular customers!
Below you will find a copy of a video taken from my ring video doorbell
(I have about 3 for that date between 10 am and 5pm showing my car.on
my drive)
Now clearly it would be impossible for my car to be in 2 places at the
same time, would you not agree?
Now with all due respect you can reply to this letter advising me you
have clearly made an error and withdrawing the charge and I will take
no further action. Failing that you can waste more of my precious time
replying to it and I will charge you £100 per reply and advertise this
thread in a high street newspaper.
You will take payment by phone, on the internet, or by post but to
challenge the ticket you expect me to write to you (and pay for the
stamp!) and wait 28 days for a reply. My time is more important than
that and my money is better in my bank account!
I put it to you that this is your average parking scam and you are
trying your luck!
All that said I would like to complement the store manager at Wickes
Fay Wilton whose hands were clearly tied with respect to this unlawful
charge as she was very polite and helpful.

Hello Dxxxxx,
Thanks for telling us about your recent visit to our Guildford store.
The car parks for our stores are managed by the landowners for the site, rather than Wickes. This means we don't have any involvement in the letters being sent out, who or they're sent to.
I'm sorry for the trouble it's caused you.
I've sent G24 a detailed email stating that you're one of our valued regular customer and also mentioned the frustration this has caused.
I've also sent your parking charge details to G24 and asked them to look into it for you. If your charge is cancelled, they'll send you a message to confirm this. I'll be back in touch if I get an update from them.
